Ishaq (Isaac)
The Knowledgeable Son
Prophet Ishaq (Isaac, peace be upon him) was the second son of Prophet Ibrahim through his wife Sarah. His birth was a miracle as both Ibrahim and Sarah were very old when Allah gave them the glad tidings of his birth.
Angels came to Ibrahim with the news of Ishaq's birth while on their way to destroy the people of Lut. Sarah, who was listening, laughed in amazement at the news since she was elderly and barren.
Ishaq was born and raised in the land of Canaan (Palestine). He became a prophet and continued his father Ibrahim's message of monotheism. Through his son Yaqub (Jacob), he became the ancestor of the Israelite prophets including Yusuf, Musa, Dawud, Sulayman, and Isa (peace be upon them all).
Ishaq is mentioned in the Quran among the righteous and is praised for his prophethood and righteousness.

وَامْرَأَتُهُ قَائِمَةٌ فَضَحِكَتْ فَبَشَّرْنَاهَا بِإِسْحَاقَ وَمِن وَرَاءِ إِسْحَاقَ يَعْقُوبَ
And his wife was standing, and she smiled. Then We gave her good tidings of Isaac, and after Isaac, Jacob.
