Prophet to 'Ad
Prophet Hud (peace be upon him) was sent to the ancient Arab tribe of 'Ad, who lived in the region of Ahqaf in southern Arabia. The people of 'Ad were known for their great physical strength, tall stature, and advanced civilization. They built impressive monuments and structures.
However, they became arrogant and worshipped idols instead of Allah. They oppressed the weak and were proud of their power. Hud called them to worship Allah alone and warned them of punishment, but they rejected his message and challenged him to bring the punishment he warned about.
Allah sent upon them a violent, barren wind that lasted for seven nights and eight days, destroying everything in its path. Only Hud and the believers were saved. Surah Hud (Chapter 11) is named after him.

وَإِلَىٰ عَادٍ أَخَاهُمْ هُودًا قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُ
And to 'Ad [We sent] their brother Hud. He said, 'O my people, worship Allah; you have no deity other than Him.'

Do you wonder that there has come to you a reminder from your Lord through a man from among you, that he may warn you?

Do you construct on every elevation a sign, amusing yourselves?

Arrogance leads to destruction - The 'Ad's pride in their power was their downfall.
Building monuments for show is vanity - True greatness lies in faith, not architecture.
