محمد
Muhammad
Seal of the Prophets
Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is the final prophet and messenger of Allah, the Seal of the Prophets. He was born in Makkah in 570 CE to the Quraysh tribe. Orphaned early in life, he was raised by his grandfather Abdul Muttalib and uncle Abu Talib.
Known as Al-Amin (The Trustworthy) even before prophethood, he received the first revelation at age 40 in the Cave of Hira through Angel Jibreel. For 23 years, he received the Quran, the final and complete guidance for humanity.
He faced severe persecution in Makkah and migrated to Madinah in 622 CE (the Hijra), establishing the first Islamic state. He led his community through trials, battles, and eventually returned to Makkah victorious, showing mercy to his former persecutors.
He completed his mission with the farewell pilgrimage and passed away in 632 CE in Madinah. His life, teachings, and the Quran he brought remain the guidance for over 1.8 billion Muslims worldwide.
He is described as a mercy to all the worlds, and following his example (Sunnah) is essential to Islam. His night journey (Isra and Mi'raj) took him from Makkah to Jerusalem and through the heavens.
